About Payton Fest
Elfrid Payton will host his 8th Annual Payton Fest, presented by InclusivCare, at JB Spencer Park (700 Governor Hall St., Gretna, LA 70053) on Saturday, August 1, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
Event admission is free and will feature a fun charity kickball tournament with celebrity professional athletes, music by legendary DJ Jubilee, local food trucks, prize giveaways, fun games, and much more. Youth activities include inflatables, a video game truck gaming experience, a foam pit party, and many more exciting attractions. The first 75 attendees will receive a free food truck meal voucher.
In addition, the Elfrid Payton Foundation has teamed up with Boynton United Methodist Church and City of Gretna Councilman Rudy Smith to host a free school supply distribution beginning at 11:00 AM. Backpacks and school supplies will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last, and students must be present to receive them.

Is the event free and open to the public?
Yes. Admission is free and the event is open to the public. Families are invited to enjoy the activities, entertainment, and community celebration at no cost. The first 75 attendees will receive a free food truck meal voucher while supplies last.

Can I sign up to play kickball on-site at the event?
No. Kickball teams are pre-registered sponsored teams, and registration has closed. However, attendees are welcome to enjoy the tournament and all of the day’s activities.
Will there be food available at the event?
Yes. Local food trucks will be on-site offering food and refreshments for purchase. In addition, the first 75 attendees will receive a complimentary food truck meal voucher while supplies last.

Who do I contact for questions regarding the school supply distribution?
Boynton United Methodist Church representatives are coordinating the sign–up for the school supply giveaway. Please call at 985-262-9403 or via email at bumcgretna@gmail.com to them directly for all school supply-related questions. One backpack per student and students must be present to receive the backpack.
Where can I park?
Limited parking is available near JB Spencer Park. Street parking is available around the surrounding neighborhood. Please avoid blocking residential driveways, and consider carpooling or using a rideshare service whenever possible.
If it rains, will the event be canceled?
No. Payton Fest is scheduled to take place rain or shine. Covered seating is available in designated areas, but attendees are encouraged to bring an umbrella or rain poncho if rain is expected.
